This is a piece I created for my dear friend on her wedding day. It was my first time creating something this large and definitely thought it would be easier than it was.

I purchased the wood at Home Depot and had them cut it down to my requested size. Then my husband and I added two coats of ‘Ebony’ stain.

Once dried, I outlined the board in white chalk. The spacing was definitely the hardest part but the chalk helped. I used a mixture of Sharpie Paint markers and chalkboard markers to achieve the look.
